NORTH WILDWOOD TO APPROVE SPECIAL EVENTS, JITNEY OPERATIONS

North Wildwood’s City Council will meet Wednesday afternoon and approve various special events in the city this year, including the New Jersey State Barbecue and Blues Festival in early July.  Council is also expected to approve a new ordinance that will regulate the operation of Jitneys in the community this summer. ##

OCEAN CITY HOLDS MEETING TO UPDATE PUBLIC ON DREDGING

Ocean City officials held a meeting Saturday to update residents on a back bay dredging project.  Ocean City will allow residents to dredge their private slips next year, with slip owners paying for their own dredging work.  The dredging project is expected to start after summer. ##

SEASON ENDS: MIDDLE GIRLS FALL IN STATE LACROSSE TITLE GAME

A fantastic season for the Middle Township girls lacrosse team came to an end on Saturday.  The Lady Panthers dropped the Group I championship game to New Jersey powerhouse Oak Knoll, 17-8.  Middle Township featured some of the best players in South Jersey and captured the South Jersey Group I title. ##

19 YEAR OLD MAN DRIVES HIS VAN INTO THE SIDE OF DOMINOS RESTAURANT

A 19 year old Atlantic City drove his van into the side of a Dominos Pizza restaurant in Hamilton Township early Saturday morning. Police say Ahmad Al-Khudari was heading southbound on Route 50 when he went through a red light and slammed into the building.  Al-Khudari was given several motor vehicle summonses. ##

12 BUSTED IN ATLANTIC CITY DURING DRUG SWEEP

A dozen people were arrested and charged with peddling drugs in Atlantic City this week during a drug sweep.  City police say ten suspects possessed or were dealing heroin, while two others were involved in a drug deal witnessed by police. ##
