THOUSANDS OF HORSESHOE CRABS SAVED IN MIDDLE TWP.

TWO INDICTED IN CONNECTION WITH BEATING DEATH IN MILLVILLE

Two Cumberland County men have been indicted in connection with last year’s beating death of 62 year old Randy Lanigan of Millville.  35 year old Joseph Daniels of Vineland and 21 year old Nafees Winters of Millville have been charged with murder and other offenses. ##

21 TO SMOKE? STATE COULD RAISE TOBACCO AGE

New Jersey could raise the legal age for tobacco use from 19 to 21.  An Assembly committee approved a measure that would raise the legal tobacco use age by two years, but it comes with a price…it could cost the state nearly $16 million annually in tax revenue. ##

REPORT: FATAL POLICE SHOOTING WAS JUSTIFIED IN VINELAND

The fatal shooting of Richard Bard Jr. in Vineland last year by city police was completely justified.  That’s the finding of a new report issued by the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday.  The report says Bard fired at police first, with the bullet just missing the head of an officer. ##
