Vineland Fire Chief Robert Pagnini will retire at the end of the month.  City Council met Tuesday and confirmed Pagnini’s retirement from the department for which he has served as chief for the past 11 years. ##

The South Jersey Transportation Authority has enlisted the help of State Police with catching toll cheats on the Atlantic City Expressway.  There will be added police presence on the 47 mile highway in an attempt to catch those who want to skip paying tolls. ##

WILDWOOD MAN CONVICTED OF SERIOUS DRUG CRIME

Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor announced that a 45 year old Wildwood man has been convicted on drug distribution charges.  Hector Ramos now faces a minimum sentence of 20 years behind bars.  Ramos will be sentenced in late July. ##

WILDWOOD WOMAN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY IN CREST

Wildwood Crest Police have charged a 27 year old woman from Wildwood with a strong armed robbery following an incident Tuesday morning on East Crocus Road.  Police say Meghan Weigle stole a cell phone and purse from another woman and took off running.  Weigle was taken to the County Jail. ##

JUDGE: STATE CAN CUT COPS PAY, BUT NO LAYOFFS

New Jersey can cut the salaries of employees of the Atlantic City Police Department, but it can not layoff any cops.  A judge made that ruling on Tuesday, saying that public safety would be compromised if 19 police officers were laid off by the State. ##

AVALON, WILDWOOD PITCH OPEN SPACE PROJECTS TO COUNTY

Both Avalon and Wildwood made applications for funding to the Cape May County Open Space Program on Tuesday.  Avalon is seeking funding for a brand new Surfside Park adjacent to the boardwalk, and an expansion of its bike path; Wildwood is hoping for funding for artificial fields at its Maxwell Field sports complex. ##
