22 YEAR OLD MAN KILLED ON ROUTE 55 FRIDAY MORNING

A 22 year old man was killed after being struck by two motor vehicles on Route 55 early Friday morning.  New Jersey State Police say Laron Washington Jr. of Sewell walked into the roadway in Maurice River Township shortly after 1:00am.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. ##

TWO CHARGED WITH DRUG DISTRIBUTION IN MIDDLE TOWNSHIP

Middle Township Police have charged a local couple with drug distribution charges.  Police found over a half ounce of crack cocaine and marijuana in a residence belonging to 38 year old James “Shakey” Powell and 35 year old Dana Robinson-Powell who live on Main Street in Edgewood. ##

A Pit Stop convenience store in East Brunswick has run afoul of the law for allegedly selling marijuana and other drug related products in the store.  Police say the store was selling pot, pot-laced gummie candies, and cigars laced with THC, the chemical that is present in marijuana. ##
