MIDDLE TWP. POLICE ANNOUNCE TRAFFIC DETOUR ON ROUTE 9

Middle Township Police have announced a traffic detour for Monday morning along Route 9.  Police say there is a damaged utility pole that has resulted in the closure of Route 9 from Satt Boulevard in Rio Grande to Main Street in Edgewood.  The road is expected to be closed until about Noon. ##

RECOVERY MISSION MONDAY FOR BOATER MISSING IN DELAWARE RIVER

A recovery mission is expected Monday in the Delaware River to look for a missing boater.  The search for the boater was called off Sunday night hours after the boat capsized and the boater was tossed into the river.  Eight boats and divers searched for the boater Sunday, but to no avail. ##

OCEAN CITY TO HOST TOWN HALL MEETING ON DREDGING

Ocean City will be updating property owners on a dredging project during a public meeting to be held Saturday, June 3rd.  Mayor Jay Gillian announced that the meeting will be held at the Ocean City Tabernacle to update the public on the current dredging project and to discuss long term dredging solutions. ##

BEACH FILL PROJECT TO ARRIVE IN OCEAN CITY THIS FALL

A beach fill project is coming to Ocean City, likely in the fall.  The United States Army Corps of Engineers announced that the city will receive a beach fill totaling about 550,000 cubic yards of sand and will extend from Seaview Road to 13th Street. ##

NJ POLL: TAXPAYERS DO NOT SUPPORT ASPECTS OF TRUMP PLAN

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows over 50 percent of New Jersey voters do not like certain parts of President Trump’s new tax plan.  The plan calls for the elimination of the federal deduction for state and local taxes.  New Jersey residents pay the highest effective property tax rate in the nation. ##
