Governor Christie did exactly what he said he would not do..he’s paying state workers who were laid off temporarily during last month’s government shutdown. Christie signed new retroactive pay legislation and praised lawmakers who put the bill together after the state experienced a three day shutdown. ##
Vineland Police are investigating a shooting that took place Monday night in a residential neighborhood. Police say an adult male was shot in the area; so far, no suspects are in custody. The gunshot wound was not life-threatening.
New Jersey Senator Cory Booker is supporting federal legislation that would legalize marijuana throughout the country. Booker has created a so-called “Marijuana Justice Act” that would remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act. Booker announced the legislation on Facebook Live. ##
The BBQ Restaurant located at Indian Trial Road and Route 9 is closed until further notice. WPVI-TV reports that the restaurant caught on fire Monday night with flames shooting through the ceiling of the eatery. No word yet on what caused the fire.
