VINELAND POLICE CONTINUE INVESTIGATION INTO CLUB SHOOTING

Vineland Police are continuing their investigation this week into a weekend shooting at a nightclub that injured three people.  Police say they responded to the Grant Plaza early Saturday morning after gunshots erupted inside the club.  Club officials believe the shootings were gang related. ##

BRIDGETON MAN SHOT TO DEATH, NO SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

A 22 year old Bridgeton man was shot to death over the weekend, and the suspect remains at large.  State Police say the shooting occurred early Saturday morning in Fairfield Township.  Vincent Horns was found dead, lying in a roadway, the victim of multiple gunshot wounds. ##

Governor Christie spent his Sunday in Paterson where he attended an event at a drug recovery center.  Christie is making the recovery from addictions his number one priority during his last year in office; he’s also heading up a White House commission dedicated to opioid addiction recovery. ##

NORTH WILDWOOD TO DISCUSS JITNEYS, AMEND ORDINANCES

North Wildwood’s city council meets Tuesday and is expected to introduce an ordinance that would regulate Jitney service.  North Wildwood may connect part of the town to an existing Jitney service that runs in Stone Harbor, Avalon, and Sea Isle City.  Council will also amend ordinances dealing with streets, sidewalks, and bulkheads. ##

OCEAN CITY’S 34TH STREET BRIDGE TO BE FINISHED MAY 4TH

The project to repair the 34th Street Bridge in Ocean City will be wrapped up by May 4th.  Mayor Jay Gillian announced that this phase of the work will be completed by that date.  Gillian also announced that the new firehouse at 29th Street is nearly finished as well. ##

MAN STEALS CIGARETTES AT WAWA..IN FRONT OF TWO COPS

A man stole nine packs of cigarettes at a Wawa in Pleasantville last week, right in the presence of two uniformed police officers.  32 year old Robert Jones of Egg Harbor Township was arrested after police conducted a brief chase.  Jones was arrested and released on a summons. ##
