THOUSANDS OF HORSESHOE CRABS SAVED IN MIDDLE TWP.

Thousands of horseshoe crabs were saved by volunteers along the banks of the Delaware Bay in Middle Township last weekend.  NJ.com reports that the crabs were washed into roads and tidal flats due to unusually high tides, and they were returned to bay waters. ## Photo from social media site of Conserve Wildlife Foundation of [...]

SO LONG, PAYLESS: LOCAL STORES CLOSING IN NEW ROUND OF CUTS

Payless Shoes is closing both locations in Middle Township, and at the Cumberland Mall.  The chain announced another round of store closures Wednesday afternoon which include locations in Rio Grande and Cape May Court House, and at the Cumberland Mall.  17 Payless Shoe stores are closing throughout New Jersey. ##

SPORTS: MIDDLE GIRLS TO PLAY FOR STATE LACROSSE TITLE SATURDAY

The Middle Township girls’ lacrosse team will play for the State Group I championship on Saturday.  Middle defeated Mount St. Mary in a state semifinal game this week, and will next play Oak Knoll for the state title at Kean University.  Oak Knoll is the two time defending New Jersey Group I champions. ##

MIDDLE TWP. POLICE HOSTING COPS AND COFFEE WEDNESDAY

Middle Township Police will be meeting the public during a “Cops and Coffee” event Wednesday morning.  Police will be at the Dunkin’ Donuts store in Rio Grande from 9:00-11:00am discussing any public safety concerns with citizens. ##
