MAN STABBED IN RIO GRANDE, POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT

Middle Township Police say a 54 year old man from Atlantic City was stabbed in the abdomen over the holiday weekend and the suspect remains at large.  William Crawford was stabbed while at 203 Linden Lane; he was airlifted to an Atlantic City hospital with two stab wounds. ##

ATM STOLEN FROM COURT HOUSE DINER

Middle Township Police say someone stole an ATM from the Court House Diner over the holiday weekend.  The machine contained over $4,000 in currency and was removed from the property after the phone, cable, and internet lines to the diner were cut.  Police have no suspects in custody. ##

SPORTS: GILBERT NAMED NEW BOYS SOCCER COACH AT MIDDLE TWP.

Longtime Middle Township High School tennis coach Matt Gilbert is now the head coach of the boys’ soccer team.  The Gazette Leader’s Brian Cunniff reports that Gilbert has been appointed to the job by the Board of Education, replacing longtime soccer coach John Maher who resigned. ##

TWO CHARGED WITH DRUG DISTRIBUTION IN MIDDLE TOWNSHIP

Middle Township Police have charged a local couple with drug distribution charges.  Police found over a half ounce of crack cocaine and marijuana in a residence belonging to 38 year old James “Shakey” Powell and 35 year old Dana Robinson-Powell who live on Main Street in Edgewood. ##
