STATE POLICE EMPLOYEE ADMITS TO CHILD SEX ASSAULT

A civilian employee of the New Jersey State Police has confessed to a child sexual assault and to charges that he videotaped another minor using a shower.  39 year old Milton Cortina of Egg Harbor Township pleaded guilty to the charges; he could face 20 years in jail and a loss of employment. ##

NEW ARTIFICIAL REEFS COMING TO DELAWARE BAY VIA NJDEP

Some new artificial reefs are coming to the Delaware Bay courtesy of the New Jersey Environmental Protection.  DEP Commissioner Bob Martin says a new reef in the bay and another in Manasquan Inlet will expand fishing opportunities in the State of New Jersey.  Recreational fishing generates $1.5 billion in New Jersey each year. ##

REPORT: FORMULA ONE RACING MAY COME TO NORTH JERSEY

A proposal to bring Formula One racing to northern New Jersey has been dormant for years, but now it’s back on the table.  NJ.com reports that there are discussions among the new owners of the international racing circuit to bring Formula One racing to Weehawken during the evening hours. ##

RATING AGENCY SAYS CHRISTIE BUDGET WOULD STRESS SCHOOLS, TOWNS

Standard and Poor’s believes Governor Christie’s proposed $35.5 billion state budget would stress both local school districts and municipalities.  The rating agency says many school districts will not get additional state aid and that will be a problem for these districts as they attempt to meet expenses. ##
